The first thing to do is to know what are the real specifics of the sofa that we have at home. These data usually come in the technical file. If you do not have it, it is recommended that you ask the manufacturer to know what cleaning instructions are advisable and if there is anything that could damage the fabric. Once this step is done, we get down to work cleaning the fabric sofa.

First of all, the sofa should be free of dust or other types of dirt, which can be removed by vacuuming. To carry out this cleaning, we will recommend a series of natural elements, since they are more respectful with the environment, cheap and you probably already have them at home.

How to clean a fabric sofa with natural products

What we will need for cleaning the sofa is half a glass of white vinegar or lemon juice (depending on the type of stain) and a teaspoon of baking soda. All this must be mixed with a liter of warm water to create our own homemade detergent.

This mixture, we apply it thoroughly on the spot of the sofa until it disappears. Then we pass a damp cloth to remove any residue and let it dry. With this simple tip you can remove most stains from a cloth sofa.

It is true that not all stains can be removed that easy, since there are some types that are more resistant (such as the pen or marker), for that it is best to resort to alcohol. To apply it, the best thing is a sprayer, like a bottle of glass cleaner that has been finished.

Place alcohol directly on the stain and rub it with absorbent paper. By doing this the remains of ink go on the paper and the alcohol is strong enough to be able to separate them from the sofa. Once it has gone completely, wipe it with a damp cloth to remove any remaining alcohol.

Absorbent paper is also a good option to use it alone. For liquid stains like wine or juice, you just need to pass it over until it disappears, then use a damp cloth and finish drying it with the absorbent paper once more.

Following these simple tips, you will get to clean your sofa in a very short time and without resorting to chemical products or having to go out and buy anything, but with the things you have at home.
