It is possible that for not having a proper maintenance of the washing machine, your clothes is not washed properly and even smell bad. The first thing you should do on a day-to-day basis and, to avoid possible damage, is to use

Clean the inside of the washing machine
As you well know, the most difficult stains can be removed with hot water, right? Well, the same goes for the dirt in the washing machine. To make the cleaning more effective you must use a high temperature program. The process you must follow is the same as when you are putting a washing machine, but instead of detergent, you will use white vinegar or bleach. To clean this area, add one product or another in the drawer and start your empty washing machine with a wash cycle of at least 30 degrees.
Once the program is finished, you can repeat the process with the product that you have not used before and thus, make sure that it is completely clean.
Clean the filter of the washing machine
Now, to complete the cleaning of the inside of your washing machine, you have to take care of the filter, one of the key parts of this appliance and possibly one of the parts where more dirt accumulates and which is difficult to clean.
The filter is inside of the drum but before cleaning it, you must make sure you unplug and drain the water from the machine. Once you have done so, unscrew it carefully and remove the lid to remove everything you find inside. Then, to eliminate the waste and avoid bad smells, manually clean this area with vinegar. When you’re done, put it back in its place, put the lid on and make sure you close it properly.
Clean the rubber of the washing machine
Once the interior of the appliance is done, you have to clean the rubber that is in the door. Here, some mold may have appeared due to the accumulation of moisture. To get rid of the mold, rub the entire infected surface with a sponge soaked in bleach and water and, when done, rinse everything with warm water and dry thoroughly. Leaving this area dry is an essential routine to
prevent mold from appearing. We recommend that after each wash, you pass a towel to leave it dry.
Clean the washing machine compartments
The next step you should take into account is to clean well the detergent and fabric softener compartments. It is a simple step but you should repeat it more frequently because they easily get dirty. Simply remove the drawer and put it in a bowl of warm water and white vinegar for a few minutes. Then, if the time has passed and you can still find some dirt, you can remove it by rubbing it with a dish sponge. When it is completely clean and, before putting it back in its place, you should rinse it and dry it well.
Clean the exterior of the washing machine
Now, you have reached the last step, it’s time to clean the exterior. To do this, put hot water and a little bit of white vinegar in a bowl, soak a cloth and rub the entire surface. Once you’re done, dry it all well and … It looks like new!
