Remove oil stains with talcum powder or salt
If the stain is recent and still wet, the first thing you should do is press it (without rubbing) with kitchen paper so that it absorbs as much oil as possible and is easier to remove later. Of course, be careful not to pierce the other side of the garment.
Once you have removed as much of the stain as possible with paper, it is time to apply talcum powder. If you don’t have one, you can use salt instead. You just have to sprinkle them generously over the stain and leave on for a couple of hours.
Then, when the talc or salt has absorbed the grease, remove it by brushing the garment with a clothes brush and wash it in the washing machine with a high temperature program.
Remove oil stains with dishwasher soap
If the stain is already dry or, it is very large, an infallible trick to remove oil stains from clothing is to use dishwasher soap due to its degreasing power.
Apply a few drops of this soap on the stain and, with the help of a toothbrush, rub the surface where there is oil. As long as it is not a delicate fabric, in this case rub the stain with your hands.
Then, let the product act until it is dry and if it is overnight, the better. This way you make sure that the soap absorbs all the grease. Now it is time to wash the garment with laundry detergent.
You can do it in the washing machine with a high temperature program (as long as it does not damage the garment) or using warm water and adding a little vinegar.
Remove oil stains with alcohol
Another homemade trick that we propose to clean stains of clothing oil is using alcohol from wounds, the more grades the better.
It may be the easiest process of all. You just have to apply a few drops of alcohol on the stain, leave it on for 10 minutes and then apply the laundry detergent and let it work again.
After a while, pour a few drops of water, rub the stain with the detergent and rinse. It is time to throw your garment in the washing machine and wash as usual. As you know, if it is with a program with hot water better.
